ecoAmerica Welcomes New Board Members

We are honored and excited to welcome two new members to the ecoAmerica Board: John Walter and Norris Lozano. Both accepted our invitation to join the board in July and bring unique expertise and experience that will help support the success of ecoAmerica. For their full bios click here.


John R. Walter is Chairman of Ashlin Management Company. He is the retired president and CEO of AT&T Corporation, a position he held from 1996 to 1997. Previously, he was chairman and CEO of R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company, a print and digital information management company, from 1989 through 1996. Mr. Walter has been a director of Manpower Inc. since 1998, and served as non-executive chairman of the company from 1999 to 2001. He is currently the Chairman of SNP Corporation of Singapore, Chairman of InnerWorkings, and serves on the board of directors for VASCO Data Security, Infinity Bio Energy, Applied Graphics Technologies and Evanston Northwestern Healthcare.  Mr. Walter also currently serves on the boards of Steppenwolf Theater, Northwestern University, and a Director of African Wildlife Federation. He previously served on the board of directors for Abbott Laboratories, John Deere, Target Corporation, and Jones Lang LaSalle.  Mr. Walter holds a bachelor’s degree and an honorary doctorate degree in business administration from Miami University, Ohio.

Norris_bmem_smNorris Lozano is the Chief Executive Officer and President of Portland Family of Funds and its national affiliate, United Fund Advisors.  From 2000 to 2004 he was a Director of the Portland Development Commission.  From 1995 to 2000 he was CEO of Hanna-Sherman International, Inc.  From 1991 to 1995 he was President of Peoples National Mortgage in Dallas, Texas. During this time he was a partner in the private equity firm of CoWest Capital in Dallas, Texas, which was formed with the former Deputy Director of the Resolution Trust Corporation and acquired numerous assets from the FDIC and RTC.  From 1988 – 1992 Mr. Lozano was a partner of the Dallas, Texas law firm of Short, How, Lozano, Frels & Tredoux.  From 1982 – 1988 he was a partner in the Dallas law firm of Rhode, Chapman, Ford and How, and of the firm of Denton & Guinan.  Mr. Lozano holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from the University of Texas (1979) and a JD, Southern Methodist University School of Law (1982).  He is a Member of Texas State Bar and is licensed to practice before U.S. Tax Court.
